Project Overview

After a devastating flood in August of 2007, Tri-County Electric Cooperative contacted AVS Group with the idea of documenting their restoration and recovery process. AVS Group worked with the cooperative to develop an emotional, interview-based video not only looking back at the tragic events, but documenting the recovery process and providing tips to help other cooperatives with their disaster planning processes.

The production served as an impactful memoire, informed others about the importance of being prepared for such disasters, and shared tips on how to deal with the aftermath. AVS Group filmed various employees on-location in Rushford, Minnesota, including the local fire chief, to explain the extensive damage the flood caused and the steps taken to manage the recovery. The video also highlighted the generosity of local businesses and other cooperatives that made contributions to flood victims.
