Shrine Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe Dedication

Project Overview

AVS Group collaborated with the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and Eternal World Television Network (EWTN), the largest religious media network in the world, to provide staging and technical support to enhance the dedication of the Shrine Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. A week-long celebration was held for the newly built Shrine Church and over 1,200 attended the dedication ceremony, along with hundreds more participating in other events leading up to the dedication.

AVS Group provided audio, video, and technical support prior to and during the dedication Mass. An audio system and cabling was set up along the half mile meditation trail leading to the Shrine Church, allowing for unified prayer. AVS Group also provided video monitors in the Church to increase visibility and a projection system in the lower level of the Church to broadcast the Mass for the overflow attendees. In addition, AVS Group teamed up with EWTN to broadcast the pilgrimage up the meditation trail and the proceeding dedication Mass, utilizing years of experience and expertise in set-building, event staging, equipment coordination and technical support, and camera work. The collaborative efforts between the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, EWTN, and AVS Group helped enrich viewers’ and attendees’ experience encapsulated in this historic, multi-faceted dedication event.

Benefits

AVS Group and EWTN helped enhance television viewers’, as well as attendees’, experience by:

  • Providing audio that allowed everyone to participate in prayer with Archbishop Raymond L. Burke during the dedication pilgrimage
  • Constructing a stable outdoor stage, providing videography for the outdoor ceremonies, and providing a platform for the EWTN broadcast
  • Supplying an indoor projection system so that the overflow crowd of attendees could experience the dedication Mass
  • Utilizing camera angles to showcase the impressive Shrine worldwide on the EWTN network

About the Shrine

The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is a place of religious pilgrimage honoring the Virgin Mary and serving the spiritual needs of the pilgrims who visit the 103-acre complex amid the Wisconsin bluffs in La Crosse, WI. Archbishop Raymond L. Burke is founder of the Shrine and spearheaded the vision of the Shrine back in 1995. The story of Our Lady of Guadalupe dates back to 1531 when Juan Diego, an Aztec who was converted to Catholicism by early Franciscan missionaries, was privileged to have had visions of the Virgin Mary.
